Kerinci (also spelled Kerintji or Kinchai) is the highest volcano in Indonesia, it about 3.805 m from the sea level or about 12.484 feet. Kerinci ranked 33rd for mountain peak ordered by the topographic prominance.

Kerinci located in Province Jambi, near to the border of Province West Sumatera (Sumatera Barat/Sumbar). The nearest village to the mount is Kersik Tua, Kersik Tua is about 1.600 meter hight from the sea level. The nearest point to reach Kersik Tua is from Padang, the Capital of West Sumatera, its about 6 to 7 hours by car, or from Jambi its about 12 hours by car.
